Day 4

I got up and took all the kids to the gym this morning. I think I sweated more than any day this week today for some reason. Don't know if the gym was warmer today or what! But I couldn't do the mile today in a row, so I decided to at least try to improve on how fast I could do the total 2 miles of running I've been doing. So I ran half a mile, walked .10, ran half a mile, walked .10, etc. for 4 cycles to make 2 miles and doing so, I ran it in about 27 minutes total instead of 30 without some of the walking time in between. Maybe that is where the sweating came in!? Then I did my normal 20 minutes on the elliptical and 10 minutes of abs.

I didn't have the best choices in foods today. Hubby made breakfast for lunch which was yummy! But I at least tried to eat less of it than normal. Then we had a birthday party to attend this evening, so I had a burger, but at least I didn't snack in between and also I got the kids' donuts this morning and didn't have one myself! That is willpower! ha ha.

Back to the gym tomorrow! The mission continues!

Day 3

Got a great work out in today. Similar to my first day, I ran a mile, walked .25, ran half a mile, walked .25 and then ran another half a mile. Then I did 20 minutes on elliptical and 10 minutes of ab work.

Then I took advantage of the nice weather we have been having and went out when I got home and did some yard work hoeing out all the weeds and dead stuff from the flower beds. They were looking terrible from the drought. They still don't look great, but tons better! Now you can actually see the plants that are alive! But doing all that work was another work-out pretty much! Then in the evening I did some organizing in the garage.

It was a productive day! I stayed at the same weight from the night before for my weigh in, so my total loss for the week from the previous Friday was only half a pound, but I'll take that. At least it is something! Especially with no working out for 5 days of that week and eating bad over the previous weekend. Hoping to see more results next week!

Day 2

I did a great job sticking with my calorie counting today! It is nice knowing how I did it last time, so I can focus on it and know I can do it! I put my starting weight yesterday at what I was last Friday for my weigh-in. I am in a weight-loss after baby group online with some friends I have online from what-to-expect and facebook and we weigh-in on Fridays and I hadn't weighed since then because I was scared to know how much I messed up over the past weekend with eating bad and not working out, but was happy to see tonight when I weighed to be half a pound down! I was scared it was going to be higher! So that was good after my break!

Today I went to my first group exercise class since having my daughter. I went to Body Attack and boy, was that a tough class to jump back into! But that is what I needed and really pushed me to the limits and made me sweat! I swear if I did that everyday I would lose 5 lbs a week, but that would just be too tough! Lots of ladies in the class remembered me from when I was pregnant in there, so they asked about my daughter and it was nice to know they missed me! :)

Weigh-in tomorrow morning for my weightloss group! Maybe another half pound down??? Would be nice to at least put in a pound loss for the week! We'll see.

Back to the Drawing Board

I thought I would re-start this blog again, but I'll have to get around to re-naming it! Now it needs to be Toning Up After 3! My 3rd child was born on July 12 and that was 8 weeks ago yesterday. It is time to begin getting rid of the baby weight and get out of maternity clothes! I've been trying to watch my eating for the past couple of weeks when I could. But going out of town messed that up some. I also have been running around the neighborhood when my husband was home since 6 weeks, but didn't get to go for 4 days while visiting family.

So I'm going to consider today day 1 since I finally was able to go back to the gym today. I'm going to get on track like I have done in the past! The only thing this time is that I won't be able to work out as much. Our gym daycare only allows babies to stay 1 hour up until they are 7 months old, so I'm just going to have to make the most of that hour with no breaks! Not that I ever stayed 2 hours, but that was nice to have if I went to an hour class and then just wanted to do a little on the elliptical or something to finish off like if I had just done weights that day. Also when I began my journey before, I had been working out, but just wanted to tone up and this time I'm starting fresh from not going to the gym for 10 weeks! Yikes! I definitely noticed the difference!

My goal this round of course is to lose the weight from pregnancy and fit into my old clothes and then also to be ready to run the Race for the Cure 5k on November 13th!

Day 1 Workout:
Ran/Walked for 30 minutes....ran a mile at 5.5 mph, walked .25 miles, ran half a mile, walked .25 miles, then ran another half mile....so ran 2 miles total.

Elliptical machine for 20 minutes

Abs for 10 minutes

My Wonderful Prize....not

So after months of waiting and then finally learning I had won my division of the local gym challenge, I received my prize today. Needless to say if you read the title, it was very dissappointing to me. Not that I thought I was going to get something absolutely wonderful, but was thinking maybe a free massage, pedicure, or something like that. But, no! I opened the envelope to find a free month's tanning membership to Tan-it-All. One thing, I know I can't make use of.

If you know me, you know that I tanned my senior year of h.s. and then all through college and past then between pregnancies until a little over a year ago my husband's sister had melanoma and he pretty much told me I couldn't tan anymore. So I finally cancelled my membership to Tan-it-All last year and figured if I ever need a tan, I might get a spray on to go on a trip or something.

So...all that work and nothing in it for me! It really stinks!

I'm thinking I might take the card in there and ask if I can exchange it for a free mystic (spray-on) tan for right before when we go to the beach next month...we'll see.

If not...I'll be sulking for a day or two.

(on another note...my name will be with the winners in a frame on the wall at the gym, so I will try to take a picture of it when it goes up to share.)
